The process for joining the UCF hunt seat team involves an interview followed by a tryout at our farm with the rest of the team. From there you will hear back from us within the next few days

We take riders of ALL levels and encourage those will all skill levels to tryout. We need everyone from riders with no experience to those who have competed at national levels.

Below are some frequently asked questions:

  • Do I need to have my own horse to tryout for the team?
    • No! We provide all of these horses for riders and at horse shows horses are provided as well
  • What is the financial commitment to being on the team?
    • Lessons cost $70 each and riders are expected to ride once a week at a minimum. Horse shows run $250-$400 and we have 6 mandatory shows a year (3 in the fall, 3 in the spring)
  • What is the time commitment for the team?
    • It is more of a time commitment then your typical club sport. Riders are required to ride once a week at a minimum and have to commit 3 full weekend (Friday-Sunday) ever semester, and we have multiple team events a month.
  • What are the requirnments for joining the team?
    • You must be a full time student at UCF, and have a good attitude, that is it! We take riders of all levels with all experience, from nothing to a seasoned pro.
